How to blur part of a screenshot
- 1Drop, paste or choose your screenshot above.
- 2Click Hide an area, then drag over the part you want to blur. Add as many areas as you need.
- 3Copy the image or download it as a PNG.
Tips
- Blur works well for faces, background clutter and anything you just want out of focus.
- For passwords, API keys and account numbers, switch the hide style to Solid. Heavy blur on short text can sometimes be guessed back.
- Each blurred area can be moved and resized afterwards, and Undo works for every step.
Questions
Is my screenshot uploaded anywhere?+
No. RioShot edits the image inside your browser, on your own device. There is no server that receives or stores your picture.
Can someone un-blur my screenshot?+
The blur is drawn into the saved pixels, so the original text is not in the file. Short text under a light blur can still be guessed, so use the Solid style for anything secret.
Can I blur more than one area?+
Yes. Add as many areas as you like, and move or resize each one afterwards.
Does it work on my phone?+
Yes. RioShot runs in any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone.
Is it really free?+
Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on how many images you edit. RioShot is supported by sponsors.
